Kirker black diamond base

I am redoing my old wagon. Just a driver. Using SPI epoxie, SPI primersurfacer, SPI universal clear. I will be doctoring up some Kirker Black Diamond base to get to a color closer to what the car was. I know most don't think much of Kirker but is what I am going to use.

My questions are 1 will I have a delam problem with the universal clear over the Kirker because of the cheap kirker paint? 2 Could someone tell me about Kirkers activators or reducers? Long time ago painted my mustang with PPG DBU and Delglow Clear. The color was mixed with reducer sprayed and then cleared. But there was always a problem with reaction when some more of the base was sprayed over any of the clear. I don't remember if it happened before or after it was recleared. Then they went to a reactive reducer and this cured the problem. So I was wondering what Kirkers system was. It is mixed 4 to 1 with there activator.
What do you think there activator is ? Is it reducer with hardener in it or something else? You can also add up to 10% reducer to it. Do you think there Activator is something similar to the reactive reducer used by PPG? I know there is better paint out these but I have no money...……….Shopline or Omni both suck. DBC 2 gallons of base is a lot more than I paid for my 63 Galaxie wagon.

I know nothing about Kirker except that people have had problems with it. I've done lower end completes with Nason FulBase and had no comebacks. It might be worth checking into, although the only thing cheaper than Kirker is probably house paint.

I know all those bad things you are saying so don't need any of them coments. By the way I looked into Automovite arts motobase but was quoted $1300 to $1400 for the color I wanted. This was for 2 gallons. DBC was almost twice that. The color is called Viking blue but My car is faded and I kind of like the way the color looks now. Also I cant imagine it can be much worse than the cheaper PPG lines are.

And what question did your reply answer ? No more comments on the shit quality of the Kirker. We know of its questionable quality.

If you have no experience with the paint I am asking about do not reply. Now could I get an answer To any of my questions.

I have used kirker black diamond base before, on my truck I was planning to sell. It was either $800 for PPG or $250 for the kirker. I had the truck a year after I painted it and it looked great at that point. Can't say how it looks now, but I beleive JCClark has a lot of experience with it....Jc?

And come on you guys....like Shine doesn't cop an attitude often?

My attitude was I knew what you guy thought of the kirker before I asked the question. I am not arguing about the quality of the Paint. No One has even attempted to answer what I wanted to know. But most have an attitude If someone says the K word. Pretty simple If you don't know the answers to what I want to know . There is no need to give me grief because I want to try something.

Your giving yourself the worst grief...look into Omni plus...good paint...and chill

Guys I have a good attitude.;) I have a bad attitude towards getting advice and answers to questions that I did not ask. If I had a bad attitude When Shine replied I could have answered that the only car that should go to Maco were the ones he repaints...….. but I did not.. And as far as getting mad about an answer to a question I asked …...……...How could I get mad when I haven't gotten any answers to the question I asked.

From what I am trying to remember from a friend who used to be a ppg rep, reactive reducer had some sort of hardner in it. Trying to remember from 1990s here so I could be wrong. I don't know anything about your other question. I've never sprayed the base in question.
