MIA

Going to Front Sight Firearms Training Academy in Pahrump, NV again this week. Leaving tomorrow after church and won't return until late Thursday.
I know y'all will get along fine without me, so this is just a FYI post.

Not getting political or anything but it's just amazing the times we live in. People wonder and ask why these shootings happen. I don't think there is one easy answer. So many things nowadays. The amount of psychotropic drugs prescribed by Doctors to children. Lack of moral absolutes anymore. Social media making people already socially isolated feel even more so. Parents not being Parents anymore. I think they all contribute. I remember in High School many guys had gun racks with 12 gauge shotguns and .30-.06 rifles in the windows of their trucks in the School parking lot. Especially during Hunting Season. Nobody was worried about getting shot. Nobody got shot. I think more than anything the fact that Moral Relativism replacing Judeo-Christian values in so many households is one of the biggest factors. Taking peoples guns is not the answer.

The 1% of people causing the problem are controlling the sane 99%.

Guns are needed in split second unexpected instances. Not being decent at using one & not having at split seconds reach is all worthless.
I got hit 3 times from a .38 a few feet away back in 2000' in my own carport at night trying to take a gun from a wanna be home invader & not seeing the 2nd person that hit me in the head & made me let loose of their gun. A little defense training where I could have been a split second quicker would have changed things.
My first thoughts were protecting my flock of 2 in the house he wanted into (door unlocked). Get some training that hopefully you won't ever need.
Don't feel I made a wrong decision in not being passive to someone pointing a gun at me in my situation. Protecting those important to us comes first.

Made it home safely last night.
I have Front Sight Memberships available to anyone here that might want one. (PM me and I will give you details.)
It will only cost you about $100 to transfer the membership into your name and you can take any course they offer, as many times as you like, for FREE for the rest of your life. You will get Gift Certificates as well so family & friends can go with you.
$50 per year for a background check, the price of your travel, food and ammo is what it will cost you. Great training. Not just in handling the firearms but also tactics, situational awareness, threat assessment, legal issues, etc.
I haul my 5th Wheel and camp just outside the gate. It's a 4 1/2 hour drive one way for me here in Arizona.
Cars in parking lot from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin and lots of California plates.
