I made a video for newbies: how to mix epoxy (and most other 2k primers)

Mad Scientist
I'm currently going into my 11th year with this epoxy, and was mixing some up last night, so decided to make a quick how-to video for those who will be doing this for their first time, while also sharing some of the information and tech tips I've gained during this time.

Hopefully it's helpful to those who need it, sorry I didn't have better visuals than staring at a cup of epoxy for 14 minutes. I did actually get the fish eyes I was describing from heavy application during my spray yesterday, and I went back to do a follow up filming but they had actually corrected themselves and flowed out...first time I had ever seen that happen.

I'm the guy you made this for.... thank you VERY much!
Now where's the spray video so we can see what's too heavy and what is not? LOL

Side note; frame, axles and other frame/driveline parts are all very neary ready for a trip to the blaster. So with any luck, I'll be reviewing this video in a wekk or so!

Can you please tell me what that plastic piece on the can to help you pour neatly is called, and if theybhave one for gallon cans?

First time I used a quart, well, it was messy. Tried the tape trick, still messy. Thank you

you can pick those up at home depot or lowes in the paint section, usually near the mixing counter. they make them for gallons and quarts and are under a dollar each. The name is misleading, they are plastic, not foam.

Can spouts as the link says. The spout will fit both gallon and quart cans. If it's a quart can, you just have to curve it more. You can order them on Amazon in multi-packs for a lot cheaper. I have a lot of them.

Here is a picture of what it looks like if you get it on too heavy. It's like cellulite for paint.
