Start of a new shop :)

Oh I don't know shine some people don't know enough to put septic away from their well. My family has an earth moving company its actually happened.

Here in PA. we are a commonwealth state so each township has its own building codes and they are all different. Located in the country so not to bad for a body shop. Town meetings are quite a joke they table everything and take a wait and see approach.

i live in the county . even our town is name only. the reason they want a permit for septic is for money and so the cad knows tax property is being built.

I live in East End which as Shine said, the 'tail end of 'no place' and I like It.
We call 911 to pick up the Bodies....
I honestly had no 'idea' I would ever be painting anything at the age of 40 but when I got my 'shop, was inspired and between my friends, hotrodders & spi did some really amazing 'work which I am very proud of so let It 'happen and do something Amazing in you life. You won't regret It.

Headed to the County building dept to finally apply for a permit to build. Will know how many more hoops they want this old fat fart to jump through before construction can begin. If it is anything like getting the parcels combined it will take another 6+ weeks.
Stay tuned.....

Concrete pads are poured. Framing to start towards the end of next week.

Fantastic, permits and building depts are the reason we sold last building and moved 100 miles north, 10 years ago.
We were in an an industrial park and a neighbor brought in a part to a camaro and in the parking lot of his 2 acres sprayed with an aerosol can, the building code guy pulled in and said if I ever see you painting out here again, I will red tag your building. ( he was a big towing company, not a body shop)
That is when i knew, it was time to go.

16 x 26 is framed awaiting roofing and stucco. There will be a covered patio 18w x 28l
View media item 130 x 56 is in progress - looking from clean room area into work area. 1 door on right lines up with door on Scooterville and other door on right lines up with Scooterville portico.

We live in the county also, our town name is name only .

then you should have no codes to deal with. main reason we are here. after 30 years of city codes and the fire marshal i had enough .

While there is no "city" government here the County adopted the IBC 2012 building codes and all residential construction falls under their jurisdiction.

man that sucks. only thing they regulate out here is ag exemptions on land and septic tanks .
back in the 80's we had a new chief in the fire department. he just could not stand it that my shop was grandfathered on codes. fought him for about 6 months. today it cost so much to open a shop it would take 10 years to break even . good luck with it .

Framing is complete, inspection scheduled for monday. Then the stucco man can cover it with 1" eps and a lot of sand and cement :)

Am I the only one that is seeing the last pictures I posted?
