Final grits prior to epoxy sealer

I've been reading through several pages of the primer section but can't find a good answer for this and some of the posts conflict with eachother. What should the final sanding stages be for these various substrates prior to shooting epoxy sealer 1:1:1? This would be followed directly by a solid base, no sanding in between the sealer and base.

- Existing paint
- Filler
- Primer (whether epoxy or 2K)
- EDP

The tech manual says, if you wait a day between the reduced epoxy sealer and base, to sand with 400-800 grit. On a practice piece, I used 600-grit and didn't have a problem, but it was a pretty flat piece with no ridges.

I like to finish with 600 grit for everything.
From 320 I would add guide coat and wet sand with 600.
SPI at 1:1:1 is a 50% reduction rate so it lays down pretty thin and flat.

The more I think about it, I want to put 1 coat of full strength epoxy over everything and wet sand with 600 after I'm done blocking so I can be sure that there will be no sand scratches or any texture prior to base. Does sanding the epoxy reduce the 7-day window?
