Body in month old unsanded 2k question on next steps

Hi everyone,
I have gotten my car up to the 2K stage on most of the panels. I have followed the “perfect paint job” steps, with the exception of adding a poly primer step. My car has one round (two coats) of regular build spi 2k and has been sitting unsanded for about a month. I will need at least one more recoat/blocking step before sealer/base/clear. This leads me to a few questions

1- is there any additional steps needed when leaving 2k sit unsanded for extended periods of time between recoats? Sanding grits etc.
2- Can I switch to epoxy for my final sanding stage if the car will sit a while before sealer? Is this possible?
3- if it’s ok to spray a few coats of unreduced epoxy over sanded 2k for final blocking, is there any special steps when doing this?

This forum has been great guiding me along my journey, thanks in advance for sharing your suggestions.

1- The longer the 2K sits, the better. Really no additional steps needed, other than cleaning with 700 before sanding. Sanding grits depend on what stage your blocking rounds are in. If you know you will be shooting more 2K, go straight to 80-120. If you feel like it is as straight as you want it, start with 150-180, then refine from there. 2- I really like the epoxy as a final stage before sealer because you can actually see what it looks like with the gloss. Epoxy is the best thing to leave it in for extended periods. 3- No special steps, just finish 2K with 180-220, and give as much time as possible between coats (1 in the morning, 1 in the evening, 1 more the next morning ,if needed) The epoxy sands nice, not quite as easy as 2K, but nice, and has a built in guide coat.

Thanks Texasking for your response and you have confirmed my thinking. I wanted to let everything shrink as much as possible before I got to the final blocking step. I like the idea of epoxy for final stage for the reasons you mentioned. I searched the forum but I couldn’t find a direct answer to those questions, so I wanted to have you more knowledgeable folks like yourself keep me on the right track. Thanks again
