    Substitute for acetone

At work I have a couple cabinets that sit outside. I have a gallon of PPG CRE321 epoxy I would like to use up and not waste my good SPI epoxy on these as they are not that important. It says to thin with Acetone. Is there anything else I can substitute it with? Yes I am also topcoating them. Thanks

    PPG DU5 substitute

Trying to use up some PPG DCC on an old trailer but I think I may run short on DU5. I was going to buy some but nearly spit out my teeth when I saw the price. Is there a cheaper hardener I can use? I was just trying to use up some old paint but wow maybe not.

    Hemi air cleaner

Building a 572 hemi challenger using aftermarket k member and mounts I found the engine sitting a little higher in the car than I want. Maybe it is a combination of that and the stage V intake. Anyways there is a company that makes the air cleaner top and bottom for 1200 bucks. That's alot of...

    Found another one!

The wife and I were kayaking one day this summer and on the bike ride back to the car she spotted this in someone's yard. We stopped in and gave them our number if they decided to sell and a day later we got a call. It ended up being another S code 4 speed car. So here we go again! Check out...

    Jeez!! The epoxy debate.

Just got in a pissing match over on B bodies over black epoxy. Apparently cheap urethane paint is better. Oh well..... https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/hotrod-black-paint.187428/

    Retarder in the winter

I picked up some retarder to start using in the final coat of clear. It is about 5 degrees here with my shop temp at 70. I thought about trying retarder in my UV clear but unsure about the results at 70 degrees. What do you guys think? Thanks

    1972 blazer restomod

So I did this 1972 Blazer a couple years back and would like to show you a bit of a condensed version of the build. I started with a fairly clean tub but was tweaked a bit so I had to pull it straight. After that I put it on the rotisserie and blasted it.

    Another pearl stripe question

Ok,so I have been reading some of you are painting your stripe color first, then taping the stripes off and spraying your basecoat which is less masking and less chance of overspray. Since I have to use an intercoat to put the pearl (powder form)over my white stripes anyways, should I do it in...

    Pearl powder

I am thinking of adding some pearl to the SPI white base for my stripes on the mustang. Question,is the the pearl powder ok to use? Should I add it in the base or the first coat of clear? Not looking for a lot of effect but some. Thanks

    Epoxy wait time

I see most recommend 24 to 48 hours minimum before applying Slicksand to epoxy. What about when you only shoot one coat of epoxy? 70 degrees. Is it the same? I am not rushing this, I just don't want to go past my window to shoot it. This can be a general question about epoxy too. Is one medium...

    Body filler/poly primer question

Question... Are you guys sanding your filler/poly finer than 80 grit before applying more filler? I only do when it is my last application of filler or poly primer, then go to 180. I thought the next application of filler would bite in better than a finer tooth but maybe I am overthinking it...
