    UV clear “dry spray”

A lot of hard work, location of my shop, little bit of luck, and knowing a guy. Working my ass off was the biggest factor in getting a shot. Most of the time it's great but can be demanding.

    UV clear “dry spray”

Interesting. I'm not a sports car guy so I pay little attention to this car. I guess it a pretty big deal but I just want to push it out and get back to prewar work. The owner also owns a similar year 12 cylinder Ferrari. The two guys I work with for the collection both say the Lambo is a...

    UV clear “dry spray”

Good eye on the 350gt. I'm doing a strip and paint with a new interior. Not full restoration. The lines are beautiful until I see the headlights and then I want to throw up. My opinion after working on this thing for 8 months is the Italians should stick to making pasta. They skinned...

    UV clear “dry spray”

I sprayed this last night with 5 coats uv with around 8% retarder. That was the easy math. This allowed it to stay just wet enough that it never over sprayed dry. My retarder quart was from 2020.

    UV clear “dry spray”

SPI polyurethane retarder. I use it year round at 5%.

    UV clear “dry spray”

5% retarder in my UV does wonders in making me look like I know what I'm doing.

I added an aftercooler between my compressor pump and tank and it’s awesome.

I've ran this one for years. Only run the fan if I'm using it for a long time. It's way oversized. Paid 50 bucks for it. They are obsolete to the industrial world so you can pick them up cheap if you look. I replace the beads in the desicant tower once a year and they are still in good...

I want to create the "Best Sanding Blocks Ever"

My AFS blocks are roughly 17 years old. Been a fantastic tool. The rods get loose over time and fall out. I wrap the rods with a little electrical tape to tighten them back up. I've never worn one out or ran into problems with them not cutting. My 36" one has a heavy aluminum base...

    Advice: Painting a Horse Trailer......

The fleet imron also stays wet so overlaps should melt in. The white epoxy is thinner to spray than the grey and black so factor in a third coat.

    Southeast Texas?

Yes. Most of the winter when it's in the 20-30's you hardly know it's warmer. When it's -17 like yesterday morning it's toasty warm because it has to run more to keep everything heated. Watertemp in the floor is around 100 degrees but the floor is never that hot. I just took an infrared...

    Southeast Texas?

13 degrees today in Michigan. I don't think we've had hi temps above 20 this month. I just spent 3 1/2 hours on the tractor and snowblower getting rid of 8" of snow. I'm fortunate that we live outside the lake effect zone so it's pretty rare we get this much at once. It is sunny outside...

    Made some stands

Those are nice. I have a couple that are close to Shines but the tube down the middle is adjustable for length. I drop ripped 2 by 4 down the tubes and attach from those. You might not have noticed but the rear springs are broke in you Chivy.

    1968 Olds 442

Thanks for the props. It's very good. Just not perfect which is what we all strive for. We painters are the only people that really notice these flaws. Most people have no idea what I'm trying to show them. You have to sight down the quarter and look for light bulb irregularities. Good...

Painting cove on my 59 Vette

I like the idea of a wrap. That way in a few years when you were wondering what you were thinking it can be pulled off. :)

    1968 Olds 442

I had the trimmer put a vinyl top on and headliner. The guy I use is great but isn't up on this era car. More of the old stuff I work on. Better niche for him. He wrapped and glued the vinyl down under the opening so I had a lot of glue to clean up and vinyl to cut before I could put the SS...

    Thermal coating and Sound dampening

I've used lizard skin for almost 10 years now and never had a problem so I won't experiment but someone might want to try and save money. Heres my budget dynamat story. First heard of the stuff in the mid 90's. We had a local manufacture for the commercial dynamat that the OEM's used. Back...

Wait time before complete repaint on freshly painted 63 Caddy - Cold weather

Are you putting a 3rd paint job on it or a 2nd? I'd let it sit in the sun for a week or so. 50-60 days is a while and it sounds like not a lot of material on it? What was going to be done with 2 coats nason clear? You couldn't hardly 1500 da and buff with that. Always the best route is...

    3m paltinum filler 01171 and 31131

I used platinum plus for over a decade and have been using the platinum select the last two years. I like the select better. For me it sands easier, spreads better, and has less pinholes. For me it's almost opposite of Moparmuscles's experiences. Crazy how we each have different experiences...
