    68 el Camino Resto-Mod

It may have been an optional remote for the right side cowl vent, but I can't be sure. An assembly manual might show it.

    SPI reducer compatibility

Best reducer for DBC, in my opinion. Be sure to activate the DBC, it is brittle and it needs it.

How to paint a baby grand piano?

Interesting, thanks. As far as I knew nearly all of that company's products are for mold making or molded part manufacture, and it seems to me this product is also mainly for that purpose. I'd like to see the gun finish of this product in person.

How to paint a baby grand piano?

The only polyester topcoats I know of are for mold-making. Would you mind linking to product you plan to use?

    69 Mustang Mach 1 Resto

Looks like the front of the fender is beat up, but photos can be misleading.

I think I missed where the problem area is on the first look. There's just the one photo of that area?

I get wanting to make everything perfect, but first maybe try the bumper on and see how it looks. That area may be completely covered from normal view, unless you are going to park it over mirrors, it might not be a problem at all.

    Sticky On Bare Metal Prep

MEK is a better choice if a very strong solvent is required. From the MEK wiki:

    Sticky On Bare Metal Prep

The reason acetone isn't suitable for large surfaces is because it evaporates too fast for the second dry wipe to capture contaminants before the solvent evaporates. Acetone is also strong enough to partially dissolve some substrates that are better left in place, such as the basecoat components...

    Basecoat plus candy

Too fast of reducer, didn't think of that. Seems likely because that also encourages over-application.

We don't use stripper anymore. I think all the stuff they sell here is legal in CA now, you could probably use it as hand cleaner.

To me the base looks either under-reduced, applied with too low of air pressure, or some combination of those. I don't observe any sand scratches in the photos. The only other cause I can think of for that sort of texture would be not to have sanded the texture out of the primer.

The red headlights reminded me of a cartoon I used to watch with my youngest daughter, "Invader Zim."

Pure acetone leaves no residue, so unless it's contaminated, there is nothing to neutralize. But that's academic, since acetone has no place in cleaning large surfaces like we find in the automotive world, it dries way too fast. If something similarly strong as acetone is needed, there's always MEK.

It does seem to have a lot of texture, but with the lettering I do not think you can sand. I might have wanted you to smooth it out somehow before the lettering, but I think at this point you have to forge ahead and remove the texture at the end with polishing. It won't show at all in the black...

Dawn soap and water wash before wax and grease remover ok?

Freedom units are confusing. 1tsp/2 cups = 1.33 oz/gal 1tsp/cup = 2.67 oz/gal I don't think I have ever even used 1oz of Dawn per gallon, I suppose if one is using cheap dishsoap, it might take that much, but not with Dawn. Excessive amounts will just make the rinsing harder to do.

    Maroon (red) Scotch-Brite

I'd love to see an updated chart. There are many versions of 3M scuff pad that are not represented in the above. It's strange to me why they seem to feel the need to be so opaque about the approximate grit range of their various offerings. It makes no sense.
