1941 chrysler coupe build

Ya, nothing like the good ol shrinking disc.

I also found the whole front was out of square also before I installed the new piece.
I guess it helps to know what you're doing at the beginning of a project.

Now.... no one told me that you are supposed to know what you are doing with this stuff. LOL

Good points.
Once you know something really well, it starts to get boring. Take my wife for example......uhm, I mean take my day job for example....

Lots of updates but I couldn't post any more pics on this site for some reason.

Let's see if I can get somewhere with the pics now.
I'm at the point where I need to lay down some SPI grey epoxy on the body shell less the new floor pans. They will go in after I give it a spray.

Here's where I was when I last left off. Click for larger view. Still having issues:

I didn't touch the rod for a whole year after I got the front clip in epoxy.
I was busy drawing up some house plans for a 2 story renovation coming up. I applied for a site plan agreement and variance just before Christmas and found myself with a couple of months on my hands. I said to myself, "self, you could probably put a nice dent into the fab of the truck pan in these coupla months"

So back to the garage, wahooo....:highly_amused::highly_amused:

Spare tire well. Finally found a good use for those elastic band tires that mostly the young kids love so much.

I took all the parts to work and got a few guys to help spot weld the whole thing together.

Nice work!

Thanks Bob.

The next thing was dealing with the floor and rockers. The rockers were replaced by the PO but they were not done so well and had a bunch of bondo on them. So I figured, why not give it a shot to make a set.

I made up some new floor pans and tranny tunnel about 1-1/2" higher than the stock floors.

That's where I'm at now. I'm going to spray the shell tomorrow and then install the new floor.

The BBC has to stay though. I enjoy getting places without having to stop and fix stuff, ha......:p

Just shot a coat of SPI epoxy about an hour ago.IMG_3604Medium.jpg

Sorry, just had to say it. It may not be true, of course, just cheaper for parts.

Nice! what BBC? 454?

Sorry I didn't reply. I'm not getting any notifications.

454 stroked to 496, sequential fuel injection with a tunable ECM (LS1) and 4L80E overdrive tranny with a GV overdrive unit behind that, going into an 04 Cobra IRS, 3.55 gears.
