I have been following this forum and using the SPI products now for 2-1/2 years, and I find it to be a fantastic product. By way of background, I have been a furniture maker for the past 42 years, and I have owned my own custom furniture company for the past 24.

I am currently restoring a 1951 Ford F1 Pickup that I purchased as a pile of parts basket case in April of 2015. Using alot of the information on these forums and a few others, I have taught myself how to MIG weld, bend and form sheetmetal, and make repop panels fit and work. I also have a 1964 Studebaker Avanti waiting patiently for the truck to be completed so that I can start that restoration.

I have hundreds of pictures of the progress to date, but there is too much to start a build thread on this forum. I have a build thread on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum, if anyone is interested:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1394786-my-jigsaw-puzzle-1951-f1-build.html

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and to thank you all for all of your great advice to others and indirectly to me.

Cheers.

John

All I have to say to you right now (besides welcome & all that) is you damn well better have a few nice wood parts in your 51 when you're done.;)
I may pm you some pics of some of mine later.

Thank you for the welcome. Ironically, the only wood on this truck will be the bed; I haven't decided on species yet.

The Avanti will be done up with a fancy veneer on the instrument panel and console, which were factory finished in vinyl woodgrain.
