1959 GMC fleetside

I started building the center console. Because I am using the 2005 Silverado seats,it leaves little room for a console. I didn't want to mess with a column shift so I am using a shifter out of a 2004 Corvette.

I am using 1 inch aluminum angle. I cut several slits in it so I could widen it out after it gets by the seat area.

I am using Star bond composite sheet to wrap it in ..... Wow where has this stuff been my whole life! Great stuff to make interior panels out of. Bends and holds any shape you want.

I had to stretch it out a bit and change the shifter position as it wouldn't fit where I wanted it. The console will also house the ECM,wiring etc.

Any sign/graphics place should be able to get it. It is composite sandwiched by two thin sheets of aluminum. It's around 75 bucks for a 4x8 sheet in my area.

Got the cab blasted

Body work pics. I blasted the edges of the hood and stripped the center by hand.
