Another beautiful job by Vacuum Orna-Metal on the Valiant dash parts.

Found all the side moulding trim from a guy in Tennessee! He sold a '66 Valiant to his nephew 30 years ago and his nephew took off the trim and did not want to throw it away so he gave it back to his uncle. There they sat for 30 years waiting for Kylie's car to put it back to its former glory on a Signet! I don't have to weld up those damn holes!

Wow, what luck.

Question - I had one bad experience where the motor was out of the car- I did some blocking and things didn’t line up after motor was installed . I see you did quarters without the motor… anticipate any issues ? I’ve been told that all weight ( how it will be on the road) should be in the car before quarters are placed for better fittment . I’ll be putting quarters on a mustang and I’m worried since the motor is out

So I was less worried about that this time. After 3 other mopars on the racks I know that the flex is very small. To do it "right" I should have put it on jackstands to relieve that stress but I am not too worried about it. I plan on putting it on the stands to get the body lines correct before I start the body work so I will see if I blew it or not. With the Mopar Unibody and solid metal I have not seen the engine installed do much it has really only been the difference hanging on the rotisserie vs on the ground (jack stands on the large frame members or on the wheels have been the same for me).

Also the main quarter welding WAS on jackstands. All I did this weekend was along the wheel well and trunk extension. I left these open so the sandblasting media could run out.

Ok - thanks. I have the motor and easy enough to drop it in first. Just wasn’t sure about the whole unibody thing

Hammering, shaping and shrinking oh my.... this door and fender took a good wallop and they were caved in a good bit. Previous fix was lots of filler, now not so much filler needed and the puller holes are all welded in... Just need to weld in a patch on that door and get that dip out of the quarter.

Do you watch Wray Schelin's youtube channel? Lots of good info on there for metal shaping.
I decide to start tinkering on my truck again and have been playing his video's in the back ground while I work.

I have @MP&C! I have a video Robert suggested that I can’t seem to recall right now (not home). A guy out of the UK.

What I love a about it is how he is not delicate at all. He just more or less wails on the metal but just in the right way to make it do what he wants.
