1966 Valiant for the Other Daughter....

It’s just what I do…. :) I hate sanding 320 and up dry. Cuts so much faster with water. I like to sneak up on it and see the incremental progress. I am at a point now after this sand that there is zero excuse to break through the white.
I hate wet sanding and never do it. By the time I get to 320 I’m only trying to remove scratches from the previous grit using guide coat. It seems we are orthogonal in 8 planes when it comes to bodywork methods. :)

Your excellent results speak for themselves.

Went for a haircut this morning then stopped off that a car show with the youngest... Picked up the blasted seats and dropped of the valve covers for the powder coating yesterday. The seat backs were getting a bit thin. The other set I have are already holy. Set the car on stands so I could get the rear end sanded. I hope it is warm enough tomorrow for epoxy. Today was perfect but I did not capitalize on it.

I think it has a lot to do with my "shop". I am a slave to the weather, daylight hours and weekends only. It make me think how to plan things out that fit in the alloted time. Because of this I am sure I push things a bit to fast and end up needing to redo things more than you guys do.

I’m always chasing the weather too. Only guys with booth makeup heaters don’t.

Do whatever works for you. The end results are always top notch.

I prefer wet sanding when I get to 320 grit as well. However that is only during the final stages of prep and followed by 600 wet.
Prior to that everything is 180 grit or lower as I am striving to get the panels straight during that time.

50 mph winds in the desert.......couldn't you just put your media blast work outside and get it after 4 hours? That sounds vicious!

Not uncommon in the high desert. It’s the worse part about it but I’ll take it over long winters, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes….

Lot of multitasking today... mostly working on getting the firewall option X51 factory AC compliant but did a few other things.... Use SEM Carbofill to deal with the weak metal in the seat backs. This is not bodywork and in the car so this is not keeping me up at night vs replacing the metal.
