1969 Mustang Grande

This was Kathy's first car a 1969 Mustang that her Dad bought new for her when she was in high school and it has been in the family ever since. The problem is they lived in Miami and Daytona Beach so there was a lot of rust. Someone in Miami told them they should bring it to us so they put it on a trailer a few years ago and dropped it off. The first photo is how it looks now and what we started with. It was driven off the trailer.

It's amazing how the salt air can be so ferocious. I'm with 68 on this, it has to be attached to the heart. Can't wait to see the mojo you and Brian have put on it.

And to think people laughed at me for building Precious...........

How much, if any, of the original inner structure were you able to use Rusty? I assume a donor car came in to play somewhere unless all the firewall and structure is repopped.

Thanks Rusty. It really is fascinating but strangely rewarding to see a project like this come back from the dead.

You had better be good to Brian.

John

You can't but a full quarter panel only a repair panel. Brian had to make a full quarter by using part of the 69 and 70 quarter panels and sail panels along with the repair panel.

@rusty428cj Rusty, how did you guys fix the cowl and hinge pillars? Looking at those first pictures the hinge pillars looked pretty scary. How did you get and keep everything in alignment? A jig?

Really great work, very impressive.
