1970 MGB

She's a roller again. New tires, steering rack installed, column rebuilt with new Delrin bushings. Oh yeah and doors, door handles, locks.
I completely disassembled the windshield frame, stripped the anodizing with easy-off, wet sanded it with 400, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, and then polished. I installed new tinted glass with all new rubber.

Very nice!!! You've been busy. I knew that color would be nice...and it is!
Thanks. It's actually a little further along than the pics. I have the side wing windows (vent windows) all rebuilt with new rubber. I have the rear brakes assembled and the parking brake works so she rolls, and she stops...at least stops rolling.
Everything is on backorder for rebuilding the calipers so I can't finish the hydraulics yet.

I've been working hard on the mechanicals, so I've been away from the familiar scent of SPI epoxy for a few months.

I did use a mixture of leftover white and black epoxy on the engine and parts for durability.

We only did a refresh on the engine, never pulled the head so going to run the rings and bearings that my dad put in it years ago (he said he only put 1k miles on it before it was parked). We did replace the cam and tappets, as it had a couple of worn lobes, so I went with a performance cam. "Performance" being maybe 95hp instead of 90, lol

A couple weeks ago we test fired the engine on a wood cart with no cooling system or anything, sounds ok and hits on all 4, so this weekend we got it installed in the car! You really gotta tilt the assembly to get it in there, that's for sure.

Hey man that's great! Was red the original color for the motor, Icr...? If I were close to you I would have to come by for a ride, that brings back good memories. Beautiful car and beautiful job.

Thank you! That is my dad in the pics with me, it's his car originally, he bought it used around '73.
Yes the engines were a burgundy color (the pics make it look more red) until around '72-'73, and then they switched to black.
I owe a few people rides, I'll add you to the list!

The 'B is running, driving, and registered. I've been busy putting together details such as interior items and last bits of trim between cruises on nice days, I've put around 400 miles on it. Dad and I were out for a few hours in it this past Sunday, it was 80degrees and we have sunburns to prove it!
