1972 blazer restomod

NextGen Classics

Floor sweeper
So I did this 1972 Blazer a couple years back and would like to show you a bit of a condensed version of the build. I started with a fairly clean tub but was tweaked a bit so I had to pull it straight. After that I put it on the rotisserie and blasted it.

I cut off all the old body mounts off the yukon then cut 26" out of the frame. I then fit the blazer tub to the frame and built all new body mounts.I built some crossmembers for support and the trans.

Once bodywork was complete I put the truck in epoxy, slicksand and blocked it with 80. Another coat and 180. Then I pulled it apart and shot it with turbo primer.

I used an Fitech injection to complete it and dynoed it. It dynoed at over 600hp so it makes for a bit of a hairy ride with this wheelbase. Then I started assembling the chassis.

I blocked out the turbo with 400 then shot white epoxy sealer, then the white. Then I taped it off, pulled it back apart and shot the blue. Then cleared.

Ten pounds of s@!t in a 5 pound bag behind this dash! This truck has miles of wiring for: trans control,EFI,back up camera, stereo with amps and subs, cruise, power windows, power locks, classic instruments dash,radar/laser detector with detectors on all 4 corners, turn signal mirrors and I know there is more I am forgetting. I also built a 4wd shift bracket to work with the new style t case and come out in the stock floor hole.

I built new custom side panels in the back and incorporated the rear speakers into them. I am about out of pics of the build so I will stop up at the storage facility tonight and take pics of the finished truck.

Here is the finished interior. I could not find seat covers for the Blazer with the Highlander plaid insert so I bought parchment covers with the houndstooth insert and replaced it with the plaid
