1977 Firebird interior color code..

PPG DBI is probably the only one that will have the formula. If they don't start looking at the chips and see if any other interior formula is close. If your friend can mix then you may be able to do a custom mix or tint an existing formula to get it close to the color you need. Short of that mixing the exterior formula but leaving out the metallic toner and subbing clear binder for it, will probably be close if the exterior color is close to the color of the interior.
 
OJ are you painting everything or trying to match to some of the existing color in the interior? If you are doing everything, Ford scarlet red which was used on Fox bodies is pretty close to that color. No one would know the difference. I know you can get that in DBI.

Here is Dupont, 1976 Caddy, showing a formula for interior firethorn red. Will it cross over to something today? IDK.

PPG 1996 GM interior chart. Flame Red looks to be a close match to your color. Those DBI numbers are valid.

Was hoping it was going to be a little flatter. I added about 40% flattener to the clear. Oh well, better luck next time. The rear I flattened less. Honestly I think reducing the clear last maybe diluted the flattening level.

On the plus side I was finally able to justify having multiple clear guns to myself, lol Spraying 2 different mixes at once.

Sure I could have cleaned one gun and reloaded, but at $700 a gun it seems stupid to not have multiple guns :D

Haha yeah really what’s $700 these days? A trip to the grocery store?

What was the sheen before you applied the clear coat? PPG DBI doesn’t require a clear. You can get the colors mixed in a low or semi gloss.
 
It was more of a semi gloss. But since there are different levels of gloss thought the interior I decided I'll just do that with clear.
