Does anyone know how to remove the lock cylinder slide cover off a 1980 Monte Carlo?

I think you would need to remove the entire lock assembly. Should be some screws or nuts inside the trunk lid. Then you might have access to the slide cover attachment hardware.

ok, i took off the inside cover and locking clip also drilled out the top rivet . still no access to the bottom rivet, i can see it from the inside.

I wish I could remember. I worked on that stuff when they were people's daily drivers. It's a been a while.

Off topic but I had an 80 mc in 98. I wanted this 63 impala convertible, for graduating highschool. but he got me the mc for 200 dollars. Lol.

i was able to get a long skinny wire cutter in there and cut the aluminum rivet and get it off. I took it apart and for the life of me
