Is there a good site to go to for old Suzuki motorcycle paint colors. For some reason google is just garbage for me anymore.

I am looking for this particular color. I have to repair a gastank. I also need to find that decal.

Do you have decent sample area on the bike? If so you can take it to a local jobber with the color matching camera.
I don't think motorcycle colors were documented very well. 1982 is gonna be difficult. The ones I've done, PPG and others never had documentation on them. Try the Suzuki dealership, they may be able to point you in the right direction. Quickest way would be to get it scanned. All the Majors have cameras. Any big jobber store will have a camera.

This may help with color code and replacement decal.

you may be able to get a code from the dealer but it will really mean nothing. you will never find that color formula in any of the paint lines. even if you by remote chance did look that up and come up with a formula, almost guaranteed that when you mix it it will not even be close. basf had quite a few motorcycle colors and anytime i ever mixed it, it was like they didnt even bother trying to do any kind of match. most motorcycle colors especially that red will be some type of candy. very rarely are they a 1 step color. unfortunately you will need to paint all the other pieces on the bike. its pointless really to leave them out. its only a couple more parts. do a complete repaint, make a stencil for the suzuki logo and paint that on. you probably wont find that as a decal either. color-rite may have something for that color but again it wont match. you will need to do a complete repaint

Ya, I wish that was an option. I told him that painting the adjacent panels may have to happen but he wants no part of it... I found the decals "I think".. I told the customer I would make a stencil and paint it all but he wants the sticker. The side pieces already don't match so if its off its not my problem.

All in all..more reasons I don't want to do this BS anymore, after so many years of doing this work I cringe when I read someone that is excited about doing side work, lol

I guess I was more or less looking to see if someone knew of something close to this color from experience with it. I know, kinda far fetched, but some of you guys have done a lot of random type shit.

I did that first thing this morning and nothing came up. I just got home and looked at the part in the sun. I'm probably just gonna wing it with some apple red candy over whatever I have. Lol. Looking through my color books Chrysler PRH hits really close to it. It may be a hair darker but so are the adjacent panels anyways.

Surprisingly enough the match was decent. I mean decent enough for a bike that is going to be sold. He brought the entire bike over for me to detail, because I guess I do that now  , and he was looking at the parts hanging up and then looking at the parts on the bike and he realized just how shitty the paint was.

Oh well, I've had his firebird here for a year and a half. He pays good and if this will make him happy for a few min while I ignore his firebird some more, then so be it!

and.......we did the rest of the bike. By "we" I mean me! I think I found my groove with Euro again. Changed my procedure abit and my run issue is hopefully in the past now.

What did you change that helped?

That came out real nice, but the owner needs to do something with those dirty pipes, they were the first thing my eyes were drawn to.
