56 Chevy Cameo Science Project

Ive Only have sprayed BC/CC. What’s your opinion on spraying the single stage for someone with little experience? It will be Ford whimbleton white?
Don't want to hijack this thread. You need to spray Single Stage more like clear coat than a base coat. Needs to go on wetter.
The guy to ask is the man with this thread and that hot red truck.

This truck is awesome, Don (like all of your builds).

Big fan of bright red paint jobs and you did this one justice for sure. Truck has a great smile, too! I love the exaggerated eye brows over the headlights. What a great front end.

If I'm saying this right in simple terms, SPI ss clear is like production clear with colorants in it, so that's what it sprays & buffs like. So not at all like spraying basecoat. Even many old types of industrial paints, such as coronado alklyds came see through in the can till the distributors added colorants & a paint color name to it.

Also if I'm saying this right in simple terms, Don's ss paint jobs are badass.

After three no shows they finally showed up to install the glass today. This is one of the few things I farm out.

That will be it for this round. Have a 67 RS/SS Camaro convertible that needs floors and rockers. A proverbial pig in lipstick it was purchased by someone because it looked nice. It is rotten to the core with rust and shady repairs.

As always, your work is 1st rate, beautiful truck! I'm curious why you added the black around the back and B pillar?

Love those frontends. It's always a plus to find a vehicle with all of the trim still intact.
Looking forward to your skillful restoration.

When I was 17 I had a 58 big window stepside as my only way around. Utility guy hollered at me one day when I was driving it and asked me if I wanted to see a 58 factory NAPCO version he was restoring. So also in his basement he also had a 55 big window factory hydramatic. Side fender emblems also stated hydramatic on them. I don't know what ever happened to them but something I've never forgotten.

Thank you Don for the pics and also taking care of it.

The last Hydramatic pickup I remember seeing was a '59 GMC with a Pontiac engine that the guy said was a 389, but it was probably a 336.
