I guess because it was all new to me, putting a complete C5 suspension and drivetrain under a trifive Cameo pickup. There was a lot of measuring and calculations to get it to fit with the right ride height. There was always a risk the truck might be a failure and ride like junk. Plus my engineer sense of humor liked the name….

Dusted off the Cameo to make some suspension upgrades. I had JRI coilovers in my 69 Camaro and the ride was excellent. Hoping for the same result. The C5 factory Z06 fiberglass transverse leaf springs just can’t take the extra weight of the truck. Close, but not quite.

The reservoirs hanging off the coilovers? They are just gas reservoirs afaik. I assume they are needed because of the small shock body needed to fit on the C5 control arms.

After a little head scratching I concluded my stock LS6 was anything but and had a fairly big cam and injectors. So I had PatG whip me up a custom tune based on the HP Tuners log file I sent him. He nailed it and the truck is so much better to drive now. Better idle, shifts, throttle response and fuel economy.
