This post is about a month over due, but with this coronavirus thing going on, I have some extra time on my hands, I thought I share some pictures. It's not the best but its not the worst paint job and well it is my first. This has been a work in progress for many years due to time and money. I also wanted to thank Barry for his helpfulness and knowledge over the super bowl weekend.

Good job! How many coats of clear did you put on it?
2 Coats. The first coat I shot came out nice, unfortunately the vapor was overwhelming even with a mask, so I decided to open the side door, and it let in lots of debris. I layed down a very heavy 2nd coat and left it as is.

When I started wet sanding the clear coat, I had two spots where I sanded down to primer. I may have to sand down far enough to lay primer, base, and clear again and try to blend. I'm just going to leave it and continue on and come back to it later on when I put everything back together, honestly I'm so done with painting at this point o_O

Very nice, I really like that color. I'm coming down the home stretch to paint my 66 too.

Looks great! Sorry to hear about your difficulties with cutting and buffing and being tired of painting, I've been there. I absolutely despise cutting and buffing. But it looks like you know how to do it!

I once epoxied and hand sanded an entire car twice. That was my first time using SPI Epoxy and didn't know about reducing it.

I admit, I really liked it when I saw it on the Year One 66 Fastback. It has a purple tone to it and it shows differently under the sun and shade.

The cutting and buffing wasn't too bad. I think it was the fact that I was only able to do little by little at a time and doing it over and over again. If I had the space and better equipment, I think it would have been more fun.

I accidentally got confused with the activator and reducer. Even though I had a cheat sheet to go by, I though the activator was the reducer, and within seconds, the epoxy clumped up on me.
