Advice needed for first pearl blend on collision work

I am getting ready to do my first pearl blend on the front bumper of a 2018 jeep Grand Cherokee, I am almost positive that I can buff this scuff out but in case I do have to blend what advice do you guys have?

Pay close attention to making a good blend with the base. That is what will show the most. The midcoat is easy, just make sure to cover the base blend with both coats, each one going a little farther. I've found most pearl whites take on average 2 coats of mid coat, but I have letdown panels on most of them to check. A bumper is forgiving to blend so that is a good one to start with.

Texasking is giving good advice JC, I'll add a couple of thoughts. If it's white that's the easiest color to blend. If you have a repaired/primed area on the cover finish the entire cover with 800 wet and you won't have to seal it. Simply extend your passes on each successive coat. If you are having trouble with the blend, get what is called "blender" specific for the brand base you are using. PPG DBC I would use DBC500. After you have achieved hiding of the repair area take your ready to spray base and mix it 1:1 (roughly doesn't need to be exact) with the blender and make another pass. Blender is also useful if you are having trouble with a silver or gold getting it to lay down without mottling. Like Texas said 2 coats of midcoat (pearl) is all you'll need to do, you can use your clear gun or your base, most of the time I use my basecoat gun when doing pearl blends. Follow same principle with the midcoat, extend your second pass out farther than your first. Again if you are having trouble or want to be certain, you can reduce your RTS midcoat 1:1 with blender and spray a third coat. Give everything proper flash time, then clear.

SPI's intercoat makes an excellent blender, also, mixed 1:1 with reducer, then just as Chris described. I would probably do a spray out on that color, as I just did one and had to tint the base redder. My formula was way off.
