AIR HOSE RECOMMENDATIONS

I need a new air hose to spray paint with because I have water contamination in the current one and want to see what you guys recommend?

My preference is for regular rubber hose. I like the flexilla but have had a couple and have had some longevity issues. Regular rubber hose seems to work best for me. I don't like PVC (obviously) or the hybrid rubber hoses. Those hybrid rubber hoses take a set and you never get the set out of them. Always want to curl up tight like they were originally packaged. I never coil the hose tight either. Long loops only.

i am all about flexzilla. i have 3 of them in my shop. the one in my booth has been there for prob 10 years now. never had a flexzilla fail. its light, doesnt dry rot and lays flat on the floor.

the pvc hoses are terrible. the red rubber hoses dryrot and fail in about 6 mos. for rubber you need to get the black or yellow goodyear hoses.

I've had two of the yellow goodyear hoses and both had the outer covering crack and separate from the inner covering within a couple of months after being put into service. The black Goodyears are better hoses IMO.

Hmmm interesting. I have both and no issues with either. Both prob 7 years. Yellow seems higher quality than black but who knows. The yellow one was a high psi type. 300 or more i believe.

I've had the same problem with the newer Goodyear hoses. Separated between the braid and outer covering and started leaking within a couple months. Had some of the older ones last for years, and the overall diameter seemed larger than the newer ones. I have yet to find an air hose that I am completely happy with. I have flexillas now. They are light, flexible, and pretty tough. Maybe they don't like me, but every once in a while they will reach out and grab my leg like a python and try to get me on the ground. Haven't succeeded yet, but close. I do like the "pro ends" better than the standard. They are easily repairable.

My yellow Goodyear has been a great hose, I dont use it a ton, but its probably 9 years old. Probably the better older build quality I suppose. My dad bought a Dewalt rubber hose for his shop, very similar to the yellow Goodyear with some slight differences, I think that one is around 3 years old.

I had a Flexzilla for my booth and I didn't mind it, as has been mentioned its light and relatively easy to work with.

For whatever reason I seem to prefer a rubber hose for regular work in the garage, and a Flexzilla for painting.

The hose will be strictly for painting, I use 1/2 inch rubber on all my tools. Is there a way to remove condensation from a hose or dry it out?

I have a 1 gallon desiccant, Motor guard M60 and a water trap but still get water contamination from time to time. I would love to make an after cooler but don't know specifics to do so.
