Alkaline solution and dc current

Recently had a 1979 ford truck hood dipped by 122 Auto Restoration. The hood turned out nice in a process called Revivation where an alkaline solution and dc current are used to do the stripping. My plan is to d/a with 80 grit wash with soap (dawn) and water, dry and clean with 700 and spray with 2 coats of SPI epoxy and then the normal 2k primer and base coat&clear. Is this an acceptable process? Regarding the underside of the hood is there a product available to help get the epoxy down behind the bracing or does that area stay mostly uncovered? I may try reduced epoxy in a pump up bug sprayer. Thank you Todd Grimes

If it was done properly it would have been rinsed after the process to neutralize it. Without knowing that, washing it first with dawn and a red scotchbrite pad would be a good idea. Do it before you DA the hood. Then proceed as planned.
Regarding the backside of the braces the best way is also the most work, disassembling the hood, then sanding and priming the backside of the braces that way. Alternatively you can try and get the epoxy in there by some other method, pouring it in, using some sort of wand like with rustproofing to blow it in there. Usually a lot more messy but less overall work.

I would use 700 before sanding then proceed like you planned.
BUT do check on what Chevman said!!!! Just to be safe, may just be more like "holdtite 2"
