Any DV1 users here?

I made a purchase the other day and I think im gonna break them in tomorrow. Anyone have any setting they would like to share on these guns?

I’ve only tried the DV1 basecoat gun a few times, a buddy of mine owns it. Great gun for metallics, effortless blends and easy to spray. The pressure settings on the digital gauge can be somewhat deceiving because it reads lower than the input by the gun handle. If the digital gauge reads 15 PSI you probably have 25 PSI at the gun air fitting. So comparing spraying pressures with other guns may not be apple to apples.
 
Well I forgot I dont have a regulator on the wall. I need to add one enable to use these guns with no regulator on the end of the gun like I wanted. I need to find a good wall regulator now.
 
Ok, I had a chance to spray with these yesterday.....I gotta say these guns are by far the best in my collection. I used to think my prolite did a good job with the Euro clear, but this dv1 clear gun puts that prolite to shame.....The dv1 basegun is far beyond the tekna base gun also IMO..

Sadly I have a few guns that just got demoted....I hope they arent offended!!

I ran the base gun at 22psi on the gauge and the clear gun at 25 on the gauge..They are both the plus guns and that is what devilbiss recommended.
 
OJ you must be rolling a lot of stuff in and out of your place! You are one productive guy. And you have a full time job as well right? Wow.

Any Sata guns in your collection? I wonder how that DV1 clear gun would compare to a Sata 5000 RP 1.3 I have (really more like 1.5 nozzle)?
Too many guns in my collection already and don't paint that much anymore. Still like spray guns though.
 
No I dont own any satas. Ive thought about buying a 5500 in the past but the price tag just turns me off. I used to have an iwata lph400 but sold it. Now everything I have is devilbiss. I was never too thrilled about the tekna basecoat gun and was nervous about wasting money on this dv1 base gun, but they arent the same one bit.
 
Spraying again today. Again couldnt be happier with this base gun. It sprays base so nice.

On a side note, my tekna pro-lite that used to be my dedicated clear gun got pushed to sealer duty over my old copper.. What a step up in that department also!
