Anyone ever order SPI from shopvrs.com

Placed my order with them for a gallon of spi universal clear and 4 qts activator on 5/25/2022 and never got anything, card was charged and have not one response to any email or phone call… i think they are in alabama. I just want my clear coat!!
 
First, why didn't you just call SPI and place an order? In the future call SPI.
Never heard of them so I googled and went to their facebook page. Seems your complaint is a common one with this company. Multiple complaints about them accepting payment and not delivering. Contact your credit card company and let them know you never received any product but were charged. It may be too late as 90 days have already past. You should have contacted the CC company sooner. But worth a shot.
Don't order anything else from them. Order direct from SPI in the future.

I honestly kept pushing it off as maybe it was out of stock and would eventually get it.. but then i saw your post that everything is fully stocked up so i tried contacting them again and got no where. Again.

Ive ordered direct from spi in the past and have had no problems at all.. i was just googling around one night and came across vrs and did a spontaneous online order.

Thanks for your help guys! I will be calling a little later today.
 
I looked at their website and I can see why people would order from there. It looks like a legit deal where you can order a host of supplies. I know being in Michigan, Ill only order from SPI directly or Chads. More recently I have been just ordering from Chads since I can order sandpaper and stuff like that also in one shot.

As usual Barry will make things right for you.
 
Sorry to hear the OP got taken but, I don't see this as Barry's problem. Barry seems to have a big heart and takes care of those who have legitimate issues. Not saying the OP doesn't have a legitimate issue, and I thank him for making us aware of a crooked vendor.

Just seems odd for your very first post but, charity starts at home.

Order straight from SPI next time.
 
I almost got burned by a similar online site. They were offering brand name products at a substantial discount. When the package didn't arrive on time, I immediately got suspicious and found numerous complaints about them.
In my case, I simply cancelled the order and then made sure there were no charges to my bank account. Later, I discovered the site was a scam set up by some oriental country's citizens.

As for SPI, I have been ordering directly from them for a very long time now. Never had an issue.

And, Nobody's Fool.

When I got back in Paint,I was actually directed to an SPI jobber near me for immediate pickup.
After the 3rd voice mail I left, called direct to SPI and will continue to.

I didnt make this post to make it SPI or Barrys problem but figured its the best place to ask considering everyone here on this forum is familiar with the paint line and im sure im not the only person on here that has ordered from vrs before.

As for this being my first post.. yes it is on this forum. I havent been on forums much in well over a decade. Before hotrodders forum was what i was on and how i got into using SPI products. I even had some of my work featured on a catalog and the SPI website a time or two in the early- mid 2000s..

Barry and SPI dont owe me anything but they went out if their way to remedy a situation and i am greatly appreciative of that. And hopefully they have a direct line with vrs and they can get to the bottom of the real issue..

Again.. none of this was negative towards SPI. Simply one of their resellers. I tried all other options before making it a public matter.
 
I just want to say that seeing what Barry did here just cements my loyalty to his company. Sure I've only ordered a handful of items over the years (just a DIY hack), but you can damn sure bet I will tell anyone willing to listen where to go for excellent products, absolutely stellar cust service, attitude, and all around great folks!
 
Internet ain't changed much either.

I was around back then but quit in 2010 and got back in too recently. Also hotrodders before SPI's site came about and I recall you. Don't remember what you had in the tech books per say but still have a bunch around from then.

Kind of person Barry is? Who in their right mind,would put a kitchen aid mixer and a riding mower in a tech manual full of really extraordinary vehicles ??

I hope I dont get burned here. I just placed an order with them on Monday. I couldnt get it to go through so sent a message in the contact us. Steven called me. I wanted to get some Clausens, and since I was already ordering that I added a couple things SPI I needed. Steven even called me back the next day and told me he didnt have the Clausesn in stock and thought he did. He said he called Clausens but thye were closed until after labor day. He was going to call next week to get it. I can always cancel with CC if things don't move along and I get no responses, but it will set me back because I am trying to beat the weather.
 
So Clausen closed the Tuesday before Labor Day? Sounds fishy to me. Read some of the complaints on the VRS facebook page. You won;t feel better. Cancel the order. This guy has defrauded a lot of people.

Yeah not a good review in months. Too many flags. I sent a cancellation, will see if I have to go CC route. Now to find some Clausens.
 
shopvms.com is using many SPI product images that look to have been taken directly from the SPI website. I think this is something that is eligible for a DMCA takedown order, but I'm not a lawyer.

Not sure Now but my 'new one' is 20-21 I just got. But always good to check because you never know what the SPI Mad Scientist is up too.
I actually have 2 of the 08-09. 1 the back cover has pictures inside and another without the inside pics.
Last old one was when SPI Base colors started, the first time.
Looking like Barry's going to be a " little busy "....
