Bare metal, epoxy, base and clear?

Just epoxy under hood of my 61. Got it bare metal with 80 grit and 2 coats epoxy. Was going to 2k it in the morning but looking at it, looks pretty good and its the underside of the hood. Can i just go straight to basecoat and save my 2k primer?? I would usually 2k it and 400 grit then seal then base....picture attached. (Not much to look at)

Yes you can for under hood fine,I would use a gray scuff pad first.

The only problem I see going straight to base would be it being in the sun. Normally if I was going to base over it, I would keep it out of the sun, but that is probably just me being paranoid. If you seal it, then base, I would feel better about avoiding any possible adhesion problems.
