Base coat paint

Starting point,

Products used were SlickSand 4:1, SPI epoxy(final prime and reduced as as sealer, Motobase, SPI UV clear

Biggest hurdle was the roof. After cutting off the steel roof to install the carbon roof, the carbon roof was about a 1/4" short. WTF!!!! But I got through it. Had to get creative.

GM Laguna blue. WA135x is the code I believe.

he had the chassis all powder coated and it was the best match i could find in short notice.

I just checked the price of PPG DBC for Ford lightning blue paint code N6...$1245.00 a gallon! Just a gallon of base!

I just got off the phone with Chad Sperry. He quoted me $530.00 for automotive art paint. Great guy to talk to. His shop uses automotive art, and he likes it. It’s a heck of a lot cheaper than PPG!

I looked at the Ford blue at a dealer, and it looks better in the picture. House of Kolor has some good looking blues.

One pic taken outside the other on display inside under lights. Not saying the paint doesn't look better on the car but even the car would look different in the sunlight. (see your other pic above with the car outside.)

That’s one of the problems I’m having. I see a color I like and then I see it in the sun and it’s different. The new mustang in and the truck are the same color. The ford blue lightning isn’t a bad color, I’m looking for something a little darker. The 69 mustang is house of color is royal blue.
Here is a close up of ford blue lightning.

Well I just found another website that says the 69 mustangs is PPG super blue.

This is the 2017 Mustang Lightening Blue in Prospray base. $530 gallon about 6 months ago. There is a ton of pearls in that paint. I think the paint guy told me 3 different pearls and the most amount of pearl per gallon that he had ever mixed.

The only pic I can find in the sun is the engine compartment. Hope this helps. This color really flops and changes a lot depending on how the sun hits it.
