Base or Single Stage Paint Advice

I'm restoring a 1969 Mustang convertible. The color is grabber blue which is a solid color. I have some experience in my past spraying single stage (Centauri and Imron) as well as BC with Chromabase and Metalux. What I'm looking for is a paint recommendation for this project. The inside of the car as well as the trunk and under cowl area would work well with single stage over BC as these areas have fade out sections that I think would be easier to replicate with SS. The outside and door jambs would probably work better with BC especially in my garage. The clear I planned on using would be SPI Universal.

The problem is what type of paint to use. The local paint suppliers carry Axalta and Metalux. Nason is available in both SS and base but I've read several posts here slamming its ability to hold up to the sun. Chromabase and Metalux are base only which leaves Chromapremier as the only one left with both SS and BC products.

I would actually consider painting the whole car SS and go back and wet sand the exterior and add a couple coats of clear. Any opinions?

you can get Grabber blue at the coating store, full or low gloss.

I would definitely choose them over Nason. Definitely over Nason single stage. Nason base will be protected by Universal clear. They used to sell just paint, haven't purchased for a while now they are pushing kits.

If you can't get grabber blue in SPI ss, I would go B/C and use SPI UV. Hate to sound like s TV ad, but I'm sold on spi ss and uv clear, so forgiving and easy to make corrections and then a drop dead nice polyurethane finish.

It would be nice if SPI had this color.
