had an issue over the weekend while painting, that i couldnt figure out i would get solvent pop in random spots on the first coat of clear and on the first coat of base would texture up funny. had more than enough flash times ! ive been using 700 waterborne in a plastic usc handy sprayer after talking it can melt soften the plastic and release the mold agent and contaminate! also use a good quality well know solvent borne wax and grease remover i was running low on 710 and got some grow automotive its what was at the paint store it might have caused me problems as well. and was told to use 700 waterborne first then solvent havent had problems since, just wanted to let some people know so they didnt have issues like i did. thanks again to the SPI team for making excellent products

the 700 over time will swell all the orings in the usc and similar sprayers. found out long ago not to use those. google acetone sprayer and use these. they are impervious to the 700 and as a bonus they are usually cheaper than the usc sprayers. i bought 3 or 4 of them for i think under 20 bucks a piece.

this is what i have. they work well. i have one that has 700 in it for about a year now. i have others that have pure acetone in it. all work good. there is one o-ring on it that they use for the pressure release on the cap which when you tip it on its side can leak if your using pure acetone. i put 1 size next fatter o-ring in there and never had an issue again. it is a sturdy sprayer though. i have 3 or 4 of them. never had to throw one out.

That one listed above says no solvents but it will handle Acetone?
I have used this one for several years. Viton seals and so far has held up to anything I have put in it. Nice if you use different products as you can get different colored trim rings to identify them.

But it is a bit more expensive to at around $37. I find it priced best at TP Tools. Even cheaper than Amazon!
I thought I purchased it because of a recommendation from this forum in the past?

Believe it or not viton seals are no good for water, acetone, etc. the usc sprayer we are all talking about is the same one you have there. 700 will swell viton right up being. Look up oring types and you will see what each type of rubber works best for what. The one i posted above does not have viton seals and works with acetone and most solvents that mix with water. Alcohol for instance

Interesting because I have had wipe down solvent in it for about 3 years with no trouble?
But it is not 700 so I need to try that at some point. I have a different brand in there now.

I was surprised the one linked was good for Acetone but it said NOT for solvents? Kinda confusing me?

Yes it depends on the wipe down solvent type. 710 for instance will last forever in your sprayer. That is more mineral spirit based like most traditional solvent wax&grease removers. All solvents are different and what type depends on the orings needed in the sprayer
