Big project-spi black basecoat

The 64 has been picked up. Here is a video of the car. Its not a perfect paint job but we did follow the instructions for the products used. All SPI used on this car minus the polyester primer. It might be coming back for some wiring and drive train work. Thanks for the advice and help from the many knowledgeable members on this forum!

It looks awesome, RR. I have never seen, nor done, a perfect paint job. I can remember seeing "Cadzilla" at the Autorama many years ago. Probably a million dollar build back then and had a huge fisheye in the quarter panel noticeable from 10 feet away. Always strive for perfection, but try not to be too hard on yourself when it is not achieved. I have had a few customers say they wanted a vehicle perfect, and I just tell them my name is not Jesus, and I believe his shop is down the street :)

Thanks!. This job was my 2nd paying customer and I couldn't have asked for a better customer. Never questioned the cost of materials or my time line. However, I've learned that next time I'm doing it per hour, not per job. Example; the driver door took 5 minutes to put on. The passenger took about 3 hours to line up, even though both were fitted prior to paint. It also took over an hour to put 1 door handle on because it didn't fit right out of the box. The next one lined up is for a friend...those jobs are much more fun.

I'd like to add that I have a weird analogy about painting cars. I'm a huge baseball guy. And painting a car is much like the game of baseball. . A game of inches. A long process like a 162 game season. And it teaches discipline...and a hall of famer has a .300 career average. That means he struck out 7 out of 10 times.!!

came out beautiful, just curious why euro clear and not universal?
Thanks. Good question. Hadn't used the euro and wanted to try it out. I like it. I like all the spi clears. I think my next project I'll do universal. Driving to Tennessee this weekend to pick it up
