Binks Trophy HVLP Gravity Feed.

Hello,
Can anyone share some experience using Binks Trophy HVLP gravity gun? Particularly I'm interested in the transfer efficiency with comparison to guns like DeVilbiss pro light/ Walcom Genesis Carbonio360. What kind of finish does it lay down (flat or more of an orange peel) ? Thank you all.

First I have heard of it.
Many years ago a Binks No. 7 was all I used. Binks first steps into HVLP was not so good. I have 2 early models.
Be great if they came up with something competitive, kind of late to the party, a lot of great guns now.

Binks is making Mach 1 gun for probably 20 years now. It is a gun comparable to the major players on the market. We use those with pressure suction cups due to the high viscosity of some coatings that we use. However we want to get gravity guns and the management pushes for Binks Trophy (out on the market for 8 years). No one really knows how those guns spray and the sales people of course have nothing negative to say.

Seen Binks guns advertised in the trade publications like ABRN and Body Shop Business but I have never seen one (gravity fed HVLP) in use in 30 years of doing this. By contrast seen loads of Devilbiss's, Iwata's, and Sata's. That to me speaks volumes.

Binks and DeVilbiss are both owned by Carlisle. It seems they focus Binks toward industrial uses while DeVilbiss is aimed toward auto refinishing. Like other posters, I had no idea Binks was still any sort of major player in spray guns anymore, nor that they have a line of guns priced at essentially $600.

My dad bought a hvlp Binks back in the late 80's to use with a pressure pot for painting heavy equipment in his business, but it had so many issues that he returned it in exchange for a pressure fed hvlp DeVilbiss which was a good gun. No indication of what Binks is producing today, but back at that time the body shop supply place ha bought it from recommended swapping him the DeV rather than trying another Binks as some of their other customers had problems with hvlp Binks other than the pressure fed ones too.
