Has anyone had experience blending Chromabase using 150 balancer 175 binder and basemaker as a blender? Any help would sure be appreciated. This gold is kicking my Ass.

For Chromabase metalics DuPont always suggested applying two coats of 222S over the scuffed panel before blending in your color. You could do the same thing with SPI intercoat clear, scuff the panel, apply the clear, then do your blend, and clear the complete panel.

Thanks Bob. I did that for many yrs. with the 222, The tech. rep is recommending this other way.I did as he recommended a few weeks ago with a G.M. white and it worked really well, but on this gold color I am not getting a "halo" but just can't get the metallic right.

Sounds like it's just an application problem, try turning your air pressure down and do light coats with good control. Shoot yourself a test panel to verify it brings the color in right before you attempt the blend again.
