C1 corvette epoxy question

I'm painting a hood from a 62 corvette that has already been blocked down to 600 grit exposing areas of bare glass, but the panel is straight and smooth.
Would I shoot a couple of coats of epoxy, then 2k sealer, base and clear? Can I do it without any presswork in between the epoxy and 2k other than the flash time. I also though of shooting the epoxy reduced as a sealer? Any advise.

That bare glass may be straight, but I would bet it has some pinholes. Personally, I would lightly block it with 180 and spray a couple coats of straight epoxy to see what it looks like. The shine of the epoxy will give you a good idea what it will look like painted and highlight any imperfections in the bare glass.

I should have said it has primer filler. I see the benefit of spraying a couple of coats of epoxy. I said it was blocked down to 600 grits but that is incorrect is at 400 grit.

So it is 2K blocked to 400 with some bare glass spots showing? I would still spray 2 coats unreduced epoxy after scuffing what you have with a red scotchbrite. If it looks good, sand with 400-600 to remove any trash and texture, seal and paint.

Any waiting period between the epoxy and sealer?
