Couple questions, Mustang about ready to spray

I have not been on here in a while! Finally after finishing the bodywork have put the 67 back together. Engine fired up this weekend and most of the interior is done. Summer is disappearing fast and it's time to seal and get some color and clear on this thing. As you can see in the pics I have all the jambs painted. The rest of the car is in a "seal coat". After finishing the 2k sanding I shot a seal coat since I knew I wouldn't be painting it before the end of Fall last year. I'm planning to wash and scuff the body in 600 wet then seal, base and clear. How do you tape the gap between the cowl to fender area? See pic This is my first time spraying jambs first and assembling the car. Obviously I need to scuff up to the edges that are already in base/clear, but when I seal it with reduced epoxy do I go straight to base coat without un-taping? I would not want to have any areas where base and clear did not cover the sealer. If that makes any sense.
