Curing lamps

I don't think there's a difference. The reds are used to heat things like browsers. The red tint doesn't disturb the animals sleep patterns.

The 1 I have in the pic has 7 250w clear infra-red bulbs.
A warming cabinet we made for our Fire dept fund raisers had red bulbs,
easier on the eyes at night when grabbing food out.

I think color effects more then brightness to eyes. I'll have to order a clear 250w and compare to 250w old but new infrared bathroom bulb i have.
I can aim them both same time at wall & use thermal cam to view other side.

These are day after clearing heavy, got it outside late noon day prior so it was set before full-spectrum big bulb in sky baked it. December 2017 south FL. Black Sapphire base.

Tinman- man that's sunshine in a can.

i started fashioning sockets to gallon house paint cans for stands to test & the clear 250w bulb i got yesterday local to avoid damaged shipped goods, is ng. Tomorrow.
I'm gonna aim it & old red infrared 250w side by side at my overhead garage door which is thicker then car metal.
Will use thermal cam after i shut lights off to see heat.
Doing it just for fun, if i was in need of heat that'll last, i wouldn't chose bulbs. Short term on the cheap, sure.

250w clear, 250w red heat lamp bulbs. Clear actual 221w, red 217w. 30" from door.
Door was 87F, garage 90F at start. I had used car earlier & this is south FL.
Red bulb got door a couple degrees hotter, nothing significant. Door increased 20 degrees in 10min.
Bulbs way too fragile, hear filament rattle no matter how easy handled.
Heater element style not bulbs is far superior imo but work in a pinch on a panel for $20.
Bulbs got almost 300F so you need good sockets.
