Delivery Wagon

Chad.S

Oldtimer
I decided to pull the trigger on a new sales/delivery van today, I've been browsing for a little bit now, they only have been making these a few years so not many options out there on used vehicles, and a dealer I have been doing business with since 2000 threw me one heck of a deal. I had 3 other dealers trying to sell me one and all 3 said it's impossible for them to sell this to me at the price as it was less than their cost on it.. I always feel it pays to be loyal to your suppliers. I guess that belief just paid off a little bit. Hopefully this investment pays for itself in time.

Sweet, are you going to do any custom work on the paint?

I doubt it, mostly because at the moment it's also going to be a personal vehicle, I have been biking a lot, and started getting into RC racing, I've been driving my dually for all of this stuff because it has the room to haul the bikes, I have been using the GF's car for sales and deliveries but when I was out she had to use the dually for deliveries, And she's always on the go after hours so it still left me stuck with the dually, which doesn't get the best fuel mileage in comparison. I will probably save half of my payment in fuel savings.. lol.. I'm calling this my a lifestyle vehicle vs just transportation..

I was debating between this and the Ford Transit connect, the cargo connect didn't have second row seats, and the ones I was looking at didn't have side glass or rear glass so it was strictly cargo, after test driving a few I found the Ford had a more car like ride and handling, but it had a lower cargo capacity, I was ok with the lower capacity and liked the handling but I kept getting hung up on the seats and windows.

Before I found these I was looking at older SRT Jeeps, which would have been a lot more fun but I wouldn't have got the fuel mileage I wanted for sales and deliveries, or the cargo space to hold my bike. Sure I could have mounted it on a hitch but I really don't like the bike exposed and easily accessible to other people. Now I'm thinking about buying a really small trailer to haul my dirt bike to the track, however I a debating as I haven't even been on it this year.

Not too up to date on the newer ram cargo vans, but I know the little ford transit vans were pretty much a p.o.s. as far as commercial use. The Chrysler minivans took a beating reasonably well, so probably not a bad choice. I think your has the little 2.4 in it, should do A HINT better on gas than your dually.
Vinyl wrap or lettering aren't a bad choice.
How bout a dragster shape on the lower body with the dragster wheels being the truck wheels.

Longevity will tell if it were the wise choice. Either would haul what I need it to haul, so far I am really impressed with fuel mileage, it said 21city, 29 highway, 25 average, so far I've been holding out over 27mpg. I can surely live with that.

I saw a few fliers of the minivans, they also have those in cargo models, but this was more the look I was going for.

It seems to run and drive great, so I'm happy in that department. So time will tell the rest.

Not a bad idea on the dragster.. Time will also tell if I decide to do anything or leave it alone.

Are they a diesel or a petrol, Chad? I haven't seen one of them before. We don't get them here. Most of our minivan type of things are either Asian or European.

The photo is a bit deceptive I think. You fit one or two bikes in the back? We used to drive Toyota Hiace vans to transport our dirt bikes. You'd fit two and all your gear in them.

One time we hired a VW Transporter, a high roof one, and it fitted 3 of our road bikes in plus all our gear with room to spare. Only down side was there was only two front seats. The 3rd person had to sit on a camping chair. Was pretty funny, ha! That thing was a rocket though and ran on pretty much fumes the whole way.

Chad, couldn't get a link to work here just now, sent you a pm on pro-touring,:(
Shoot me a email.. autorodtech@gmail.com I haven't been sponsoring that forum. I have a feeling they are going to delete my threads so I'm staying away for the moment. You have to pay a monthly fee to be able to post on there. kinda rediculous.

It's a gas motor. I do wish it was a diesel, but I wouldn't have got it for what I paid if it were. I am getting 26-27 mpg on average per tank. I have put two bikes in it, however I could probably get 3 in but that doesn't make sense because I have to put the back seats down to get the bikes in. However I could use a roof rack if I wanted to mount them up there. I haven't bought one yet but I'm sure I will eventually.

I've never paid on any forums. I don't think you need to pay just to post or that they would just delete anyone's threads.
They did remove your sponser signature from list on on right side of screen a while back I noticed.
