Dent in stainless steel

My brother-in-law just got a stainless steel table. It is new but has a dent in the top shelf. The shelf is flat and smooth so the dent really shows.
Any way to fix this without marring the finish?
(The pictures look weird but you can see the distortion.)

That dent is stretched so working it out without marring the finish is a big ask. Plus stainless work hardens very quickly. It's nowhere near as easy to work as steel. If had to fix I'd hammer and dolly it, possibly heating it with a torch to combat the work hardening and shrink the stretch. Then repolish the surface.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. Sorry for the late response.
Seen my brother-in-law this week and he had ordered and received another table. It also had a dent in the top but not as bad as the first one. Said he could live with it and sent the first table back.
