Devilbiss Pro Lite from China?

Well, mine cost me $430 or something like that, so you be the judge if the $108 dollar one is real!

I bought one, looks all DeVilbiss to me, took almost 4 weeks to get here. They have Iwatas too. But then again, I am a knockoff painter anyway, believe its the painter not the gun, so it beats a harbor freight choice. I bet maybe they ship 1 real gun to 5 fake ones. They say the difference is the fake ones have decals not engraved names.

Let us know how it sprays ......................... I just cant see how they steal the name just out in the open. But its china they steal everything
You would think the USA marketplace could stop that. ??

Making knockoffs is part of the culture in China. Celebrated to an extent. And I guarantee you they don't ship one real one to several fakes ...they're all fakes. But if it sprays well you come out ok.

Btw... there are a few videos on youtube comparing the fakes to real ones but I haven't watched one yet.

if you want to support a thief culture that's up to you. Effectively you are "receiving stolen goods". The only Chinese gun I have is a "Zhipp" which is an Iwata knockoff i use to spray rustoleum on tools. I can respect that gun to a certain extent because they don't mark it Iwata.

FAKE. Mine has the "DeVILBISS" embossed into the casting. Look at the pictures in the ebay ad. The gun body is lumpy and wavy from a poor quality casting. My real ProLite is not.

108.00 for q 35 dollar gun ? buy junk you deserve junk . a good painter with a pos gun ? not likely . a good painter would throw it in the trash .

I wouldn't be surprised if the "real" ones are made there either.
Lots of well respected US brands are taking advantage of off shore manufacturing and increasing their domestic profits.
It could be complete product or in components. Some labels are now "assembled in the USA".

You are getting a Harbor Freight gun that you paid 3x the price for. Seriously when you support jerks who sell and make crap like this you only make the counterfeitng Chinese bastards do it more. You'll never see innovation from China. Like Shine said that thing belongs in the trash can.

but you never knock people from using harbor freight guns, and all those are copies of Sata original gun. Devilbiss starting line gun line is all made in Asia anyway, I would not doubt the bulk of the parts are made there like everything else. Assembled in china or assembled in america still have the same parts.

Logic you are using makes me want to bang my head against the wall. We're knocking you for buying something that claims to be something else! A Counterfeit. Comparing something legitimate to something that claims to be something else is not a logical comparison. Supporting those who sell counterfeit goods is the same thing as buying something stolen. Do you understand that????
Long term you save nothing by buying stuff like this. I have a Sata 2000 that I used nearly every day for over 14 years. I have Proto and Plvmb body hammers from the 1930's and 1940's. You think Chinese crap is going to last that long? Ultimately though it's your decision, but my main beef is that by buying counterfeit products you are supporting and encouraging the criminals to continue doing it.

Well said Chris. Just name the damn gun something else like notsata or devilbliss. But dont try to pass it off as a real rolex, thats damned deceptive and dishonest!

a 400 dollar iwata will save you 200 dollars on the first job. a pos purple gun will wast 300 . i buy the vaper gun for polyester or gelcoat . only cheap gun i own .

My point was, if you are buying from the country that they are making the parts for the "real" guns in, you have a better chance of getting real parts. I bought a Tekna, paid full price, it did not make me a better painter, but the 3 sets of air caps I got with the Tekna sure look like what I got. I would say they are real parts. Maybe I just was one of the lucky ones. With the purple gun, thats all take apart a SATA and copy parts. The truly great painters out there can spray with anything and get results. I am a wannabe, so wannabe stuff at 25% of the price is my speed since I have proven a 500.00 gun does not make me a better painter.

As far as your 100 year old steel, sure, pre WWII steel is the best, but my bet is if you bought anything over the past decade manufactured here, odd are they imported the steel. Biggest importer of tires is Goodyear, biggest importers of raw materials are the steel industries here. Thats why there is always a fight when they add tariffs to the imported materials.

I quoted a tank hub job. The forgings come from overseas and they cant have the rust in their chips from scrap so they needed them blasted before they even machined them. It happens that far up in the military, I am pretty sure everything should be in question.
