so ive been looking at getting a couple of different guns to replace my starting line guns.
one il use for clear coat and one ill use for base coat .
i was looking at once getting like a DV1 or a tekna prolite.
but upon glancing at the devilbiss site.
i noticed they have some new guns out.
the gpg series and also the prolite series ..
i guess they are not doing a prolite tekna anymore?
new gun devilbiss itm numbers below you can find basic info on the devilbiss website by using the numbers below

ill be spraying some basic base coast black white red etc..
some pearls pigments mixed with intercoat clear.
some candys etc and then a nice clear coat..

thanks bud but im hoping i can find out more info about the guns i am lookin at!

The Tekna is still available. As you know, it comes with multiple caps. One gun can do it all and you just have to switch fluid tip.

I can only comment on the Tekna, I have used the Tekna for Base coat only and I have no complaints at all from solids to Metallics. I can't comment on using a Tekna for clear as I only use an Iwata LPH 400 for that.

I have the Tekna Copper but I use it mainly when painting a complete vehicle. It has a larger cup and much larger fan size than the Iwata.
When painting motorcycle parts that larger fan puts a lot of material into the air rather than on the parts.

The biggest problem with tekna or prolites around here is even if you go to to the Tekna plant and get a certificate of authenticity, you will probably be told you got a knock off.

So all I can comment on is I liked the prolite more than the Tekna.

I am not one to need to go out and get the newest and best because some guys can do a damn nice job with a harbor freight gun.
