Did you know?

About five or so years ago, I had read where car bodies would be charged to stop corrosion.
Well, it's here, I know 2019 Toyota and Honda now use this.

I have no clue if anyone else is or not, but surely some of our painters will know.

What does this mean to you?
If you're having a problem laying metallic on one of the two cars listed, disconnect the battery and ground the vehicle.
Other new models, you may need to call the dealer if you're having a problem, to find out if it's you or the car with the problem.

That is cool, so it basically runs a current through the body? I wonder how long until aftermarket kits come out.

Haha! I had a buddy who had a 69 Mustang with a dead short in it somewhere. Every time you would try to open a door from the outside it would bite you :)

Only thing I saw was on my sisters old honda civic. She wanted to sell it, but was afraid to give problems to the person buying it. (yeah, there are a few left). Anyway, the mechanics wanted 1800 to change a rusted fuel line and rusted brake lines. Told her I would do it and a ton of other stuff if she wanted to spend 1800 including the timing belt and adjusters, guides, whatever we find.
Anyway, get the car here, get it up on the lift, there is a peg of magnesium in the center of the car, the sheet metal was damn near perfect. I say perfect for a live 25 years in nw indiana ve-hicle.
So why did the brake lines and fuel lines rust out? Plastic insulators on the brackets that hold it to the body and frame.

They almost had it 30 years ago, but then again, the only things that rusted were what you needed to take it back to the dealer for to repair.

All i do at my work is Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Pacifica. So almost every second car has this type of corrosion on the hood(aluminum). Older caravans had this problem, but pacifica s are just so worse. 2017, 2018 cars coming with hoods like that
