Did some long past due cleaning in my garage today and found a test panel of couple bases were thinking of making, panel has 2 coats of universal.
No need and had some dot3 brake fluid wanted to get rid of so poured it on panel.
Some where between an hour and 2 hours i took a shop towel and dry wiped it off.
No etching, no lifting, like was not even there.

Impressive! Won't ask how it's possible (but want to).
What the heck is in brake fluid that does it & why is it in there?

Now you’ll just open Pandora’s box with the mention of those two nice looking blue colors lol

Interesting test with the DOT3 brake fluid.

One was Marina blue and other LA-Ferrari blue.

I test the epoxy by soaking in a 5 gallon bucket every 2 years or so and every 2 weeks or so pull out panel, wipe off and stick back in.
The clear I have not tested since we backed out of aviation years ago, so thought why not.

In a 5gal bucket of brake fluid?

4 gallons is perfect.
I use the same size panel seen in clear test from home depot.
Main reason for so much is for more stable dot3 and more accurate testing.

Wow, in my experience brake fluid usually always damages anybodys paint films, at least the finish. The only ones I've ever used that didn't were first gen Imron and AG111. Not counting the mcu's.
That's really impressive.

That is correct, the new imron i hear does not come close.

Many years back I used the second gen Imron and was really disappointed. Def not the same anymore. That first gen was amazing stuff. I have a red jag that I painted over thirty years ago and it pretty much looks like it did when I finished it. Kept inside though...
