Edge Drip Tearout Repair

Had a edge drip tear out and expose 2mm of color. Any other legitimate solutions than complete panel reclear? Anyone ever use a brush to repair something like this and have it last?

Thanks!

If it's just a daily driver, you could fill the spot with clear, then sand and buff it. It won't be perfect. Not sure if that is "legit," probably not so much. But I might try it and see how it looks.

Crash you're a great help as always!

I'm totally cool with an imperfection.

What are you thoughts on longevity of this kind of repair? Would spotting it like this lead to early demise of the paint job on the panel at large?

To me, trying to spot it in is a lot of work just to produce a result that is lower in quality. If dropping clear it the hole fails, just fix and base the damaged area and re-clear the complete panel.

Dropping clear into the hole will not result in longevity problems, but it might be slightly visible.
