Epoxy Overspray and flat dull surface?

I primed my engine compartment with spi epoxy 3 months ago. I'm using epoxy as a final finish. A week ago, I spot sprayed some spi epoxy on a couple of spots that I bondo-ed. In the process, I got some epoxy overspray on a few small areas. I used a clay bar on the overspray and got most of it off. On one very small area, where I used the clay bar to remove the overspray, which it did, it left the surface with a white-ish haze. I tried buffing the haze off with a piece of terrycloth, but no luck. Then I tried a little rubbing compound on it, with the same result. Finally, I tried to very gently sand the surface with1000-2000 grit sandpaper. Finally, the white haze was gone, but the surface was left, a flat dull black. I tried buffing the surface with a piece of terrycloth to get a little gloss on it, but no luck. I'd like to get a low gloss on this surface so that it matches the rest of the epoxy on the engine compartment. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks for your help.

You have to reshoot it.
Hi, thanks for your response. You mean to tell me there's no other way to fix this other than reshooting it. This is a 3" x 3" area and it already has 3 coats of epoxy on it. Virtually any paint can be made to shine by various techniques, isn't there any tricks or hacks out there that I could use to give this 3" x3" space little luster?

Epoxy was not designed as a topcoat. It can be used as one, but only as shot, and in places not in the sun all the time. It is not repairable by sanding and buffing, the same as any other flat or matte black. You get 1 shot and if you screw it up it is a redo. No tricks, or hacks, or magic wands. Most of the time trying to patch something takes longer than just sucking it up and reshooting it. Been there, done that, too many times.

OK, so I found some additional overspray on some surfaces in the engine compartment. I lightly clay bared these areas and to my surprise it removed the overspray quite easily and efficiently. Before, I used the clay bar, the surfaces with overspray felt quite rough, but after using the clay bar the surfaces are as smooth as they were prior to the overspray. The one negative in this process, is it did leave some a slight dullness on some of the surfaces. The manufacturer of the clay bar recommends using a fine polish or cleaner wax to remove the dull areas but I'm afraid that might add too much gloss to the surfaces. Any recommendations are appreciated.
