in my experience with the red stuff.....only thing i havent found worth using is the 40 grit. the red is cheaper than the green, and doesn't last as long, but even if you use double...which you will.....its still cheaper than the green. i've used the 80g file stickit...180.....320. all file paper...havent used any da paper but i think its a pretty good value. 3m is being forced into pushing more economy line stuff because the other guys are killing them.
 
i have tried the 400g 6" discs. i found them to last just as long as all the other 3m discs they just cut slow. seems like thats the case with most 3m paper as you go from economy to premium. the difference seem to be cutting speed. other than that still no clogging and you get just as many square feet out of each piece.
 
I tried the red 6" stickit 80 grit discs and wasn't impressed, they didn't last very long compared to the gold or purple and also Mirka and Norton, does work though... The best value I've found in board paper rolls is Indasia, 80,120,180, and 320 all work very well-pricing is realistic.
 
Has anyone tried the Mirka Net DA paper/mesh/??,,,my paint store just gave me some 180 and 80 grit to try,,its velcro backed and they claiam the price is lower than the Mirka Gold
