Fisheye issues first coat of single stage.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but DAC wasn't really Country. Not like Cash or Jennings. He was like Alan Jackson sang in "Gone Country". His first two albums were blues and he made a Country album hoping to cash in on it's popularity in the 70's. It was all an act and his biggest song was actually making fun of Country Music. Still a good song though. I can remember when they sold cassette tapes on the counters of convenience stores and we found a tape he had done that was the dirtiest, foulest thing I'd ever heard in my short life. Looked at him in a different light after that.
Yeah, I liked the line, and I think he wrote the song "If that ain't country," from personal experience. But you are right about DAC. Gifted musician and song writer, but it turns out, kind of a loathsome person.

Looks like ya'll had a beautiful place there Dean.

DAC uncensord! I probably ran 100,000 miles listening and singing along with that tape. Back in the 80's I was an owner operator truck driver. Finger F#$%ing Sally was my theme song I ran to the west coast every week. That was a couple lifetimes ago.

Holy crap! My thread "Fisheye issues first coat of single stage" sure turned into quite a trip down memory lane. Don't take me wrong it is quite enjoyable. Keep the pictures coming.

Yeah DAC was Blue more than Blues. Always liked the one about stains on a pillow.lol....
And he Always had a killer Band. And the Flying Burito Brothers.

Everyone had long hair in the 70's. You were Square if you didn't. And if you didn't toke you were a liar. Or really square.
Still got my hair but not quite as long except it's mostly White and Gray now.
People come up to me in Public all the time and ask me if people tell me I look like Sam Elliot?
I say No,He looks like Me.... Pretty much but I don't have his deeper voice.
Lot is going on out in 'that country..hehe
I was more into motocross than cars. Still remember my first YZ Monoshock 250 Yamaha.
That thing was a Beast.

Toolin, sorry for the part I played in destroying your thread.:) I wasn't a hippie like you old farts (just kidding) but in the interest of fairness, if I can find it, I'll post a pic of me with my mullet in 1989 going to the Junior Prom. Mullets were the thing around here in the late 80's. Oh and I never smoked marijuana and didn't know too many that did.

My first complete paint job. The 69 that started it all.

I laugh remembering younger times reading everyone's comments. It is amazing how maybe different our surroundings were growing up and so similar we are in our latter years. No offense to anyone that isn't as old as I.

Yeah, I was into dirt bikes as well. But, we didn't have much money and I had to make do with what I had.
Here is a picture of my first and only motocross race in ~ 1977.
I had a 1972 Yamaha 175, with oil injection and about 1 1/2" travel at each end, definitely NOT monoshock, it was just before those came out.
Since it was a 175, I had to ride open class, with the 250's and 400's.
At the starting gate I was next to a guy on a brand new YZ 400. He looked at me, took off his protective vest and handed it to me. He said, "you're going to need this, I'm going to shower you with dirt clods and rocks." And he did!
Hey, it was fun!
Why no other bikes in the picture? They were a half-lap ahead of me.

Work boots, leather work gloves, denim shirt. All the other guys were tricked out in cool riding gear that cost more than my bike.
But hey, I get to say I was a "motocross racer." :p

Interesting!!!

I remember getting my pair of HI Point mx boots for my hs graduation in 75. They had the big Silver metal rock guard on the front and wrapped around with side buckles. Looked like Gladiator boots.Much better than the knee high lace up pole climbers. I liked the denim racing pants than leathers. Lot cooler and you could wash them. I ate some track too and won some when the best guy's with the Honda Elsinore's broke or didn't show. Those Hondas were fast. I raced till 78 and had a bad wreck and missed a month of work and decided I needed a job more than mx.

Boy,we really trashed your post good buddy. Lol.. sorry about that but it was really good stuff.

Back to the topic,
The Devilbiss screw on filters are called Whirlwind. Amazon has a 2 pack about as cheap as you can find.
Their almost unbreakable and I've tried. I have them on all my paint related tools and unless you just have really bad or no filtering on the air system, will last a Long time. I mean Loooog time. Best Insurance against air system contaminants you can buy for the money.
I have 2 paint stations. In what is left of my booth with the 30ci drier and my airbrush area with a 16ci drier.
I built my air system with what I used in my hvac trade so mine is not exactly everyday pieces but are, outside of a new accumulator tank for a 5 ton a/c which is the same as a car a/c accumulator but 5 times the size and no desiccant bag in it for trapping water. The driers have internal desiccant, activated charcoal and fine screen and are enough themselves but you still have a hose that gets rolled, stomped, ran over, pinched, older to breakdown internally.
I can screw up enough without any additional help which always shows up at an inopportune time, usually when Clearing.

Back to the topic at hand, while hard to say if it is your issue, I HAVE had issues with tack rags before causing me problems and I’ve found the less tacky they feel the better.

When I tack I wad the rag up into a loose ball and just barely brush it across the surface. It’s almost not touching, simply the weight of the tack rag and nothing else. You don’t want to transfer the wax from the rag to the panel, only to catch the dust. Then store the tack rag back in a bag to keep it clean.

If you’re folding it you’re almost certainly wiping the panel too hard and transferring the wax to the panel.

You can fold it, (I do) but like you said you need to let it glide across the surface. Any more than that and it risks transfer.

The Gerson Blend prep synthetic ones I've used a lot of aren't even large enough to fold. All about hand pressure or lack thereof.

The TekPrep cloths are 18in. I like them.
