Fixed a little rust

Looking really terrific.

Will Steve be helping with the final assembly?

Yes. I will let him go as far as he is willing. He has the doors and deck lid ready to shoot but I had cataract surgery and stents put in my left eye Tuesday. I told him I would get one of our other friends to shoot them but he is insisting he is going to.

I am really tickled he is wanting to see it move forward but I don't want him to hurt himself either.

It turned out Steve waited for my eye to heal enough I could paint the doors and deck lid yesterday. You guys can't imagine how pleased I am to be able to shoot the paint after Steve has done all the hard work getting it ready.

We hung them today and I just couldn't stand us not pulling it out for a few pictures. If I had any reservations about choosing the SPI Dark Red for the car, they immediately went away when we pulled this old girl out into the sun light.

The only product on this car that is not SPI is the Wanda Champaign paint on the dash and accent stripe.

John it looks fabulous!:) You and Steve did a great job. It's good to have friends.:) Also glad to hear you are recovering well from your eye surgery. Hopefully I'll be in your neck of the woods someday so I can drop by and see it in person.

Man you have good taste in rides! Beautiful!
Look at 1st post to now & wow. And the bottom's just as nice & that's nuts. :)
The dash color looks great too, my advice is think about a dark carpet dash cover for cruising & pull it off at show if it's too blinding driving.
Great job that's art right there.

Actually Eddie. The dash is 30% flattened (SPI of couse :). ) . Isn't it amazing what you can do in just 5 1/2 years. ............ (:))

Wow, I have been so backed up I just now saw this.
John, you and Steve have done a fabulous job!!

We are getting into the buffing now. Had a couple places to touch up. Steve made the comment that he had never used a clear he could blend as well as the UV. I am used to hearing so many good things about the Universal but that was a new plus for me.

I have been so busy lately, I have only been up to Steve's once in the last 2+3 weeks. As I was leaving yesterday he said, "by the way, I have really grown to like the SPI clear. It really buffs well. I have also found it sprays really well if I keep my gun distance close."

Another SPI fan is walking the earth. :D:D:D

I, for one, have also become a Steve Minnick fan. He has really stepped up to the plate for me on this car.

Photobucket has been down for 8 days now and along with it my pictures. It is pretty frustrating.

Steve has the car as far along as he can until I get him some more stainless polished but it is really coming along. When Barb's health began to fail, I never dreamed the car would continue to move along like it has.

Today was an exciting day, for sure. I went and got a tag for "Precious" and called the insurance to have her added to my Grundy policy that has the 36 Ford roadster.

The lesson I want to point out here is all you need is some SPI epoxy, body filler of choice, a little SPI dark red base, add a little Universal clear, and you have a car.......What could be easier? ;)

There are still a few pieces at the chrome shop but it basically is a car and is ready to go to the muffler shop. The HVAC and interior is next as well as restoring the top mechanism.

I finished upholstering the seat and sent it up to Steve's today.

I, like so many others before me, want to thank Barry and the staff at SPI for the products they make as well as the support they so willingly give.

Thanks guys.
