I see on the your Web site that The Flattening Agent is being discontinued. I wonder if its going to be replaced?

Flattening Agent
Discontinued

- Available in Quarts only until current inventory depletes

- 20-40% activated material is commonly used for low sheen

- Recommended to start at 20-30% activated material

- Always spray a test panel and wait 24 hours for results

I really liked the results on my bed wood with the flattner mixed in universal at 25 percent.

At what percentage of flattner would Spi's Matte Clear compare to?

I assume you would be able to increase the gloss of Matte clear with Production clear, if needed.
Adding a "small" amount of any spi (activated clear)
Another trick is activating a little extra, such as one shop likes it 3:1 and I have heard 2:1 mixes of the matte, these are extreme so maybe a shot or so depending on your needs for gloss.

Sorry to see that product go! Works excellent for me. I assume some just don't take the time to measure and test.

Noooooo!! I've shot a few cars with very lightly flattened Universal Clear and the results were fantastic!! 7% was perfect for recreating the look of buffed-out old paint without all the work of constantly buffing out old paint. I'll call Monday to see if I can still get a couple quarts.

Bringing this thread back from the dead... Jim, or any others with experience with utech890, can this flattening agent be used in Production clear also?
